Palisades® Zoysia

- Palisades® Zoysia should be watered daily and kept moist during the first 10–14 days to support establishment.
- Once established, deep watering every 5–7 days is typically sufficient during the growing season.
- Hot and dry conditions may require more frequent watering, but Palisades has good drought tolerance once mature.
Mowing
- For best results, Palisades® Zoysia should be mowed regularly during the growing season.
- It performs best when maintained at a height of 1 – 2 inches.
- Due to its dense growth habit, consistent mowing helps maintain appearance and turf health.
Fertilization
- Until established, use a starter fertilizer that is lower in Nitrogen and higher in Phosphorous and Potassium.
- Once established, Palisades requires moderate fertilization and does not need as much Nitrogen as Bermuda varieties.
- Apply fertilizer primarily during the active growing season (late spring through summer) and avoid excessive Nitrogen, which can lead to thatch buildup.

- When properly maintained, Palisades® Zoysia offers excellent heat tolerance and good drought resistance.

Wear Resistance
- Palisades® Zoysia has good wear tolerance for residential and light-to-moderate traffic areas.
- It recovers more slowly than Bermuda varieties but maintains a dense, durable turf when properly maintained.
Shade Tolerance
- Palisades® Zoysia performs well in full sun but also offers moderate shade tolerance compared to Bermuda varieties. It typically requires 5–7 hours of sunlight per day.
